Aama my Love – This woman, the grandmother of my second cousins in Estonia, lives on our family’s farm near Tallinn. During WWII, at 10 years old, she used to bring food to my grandfather who was hiding in an underground hole from the Soviets. As he was a lawyer and police officer, if caught, he and she would have been shot on sight. Seeing her this year, she made us the most wonderful lunch with vegetables from her garden and kept us in stitches with her stories and warm humor. I am intimately indebted and grateful for the experience to be in the presence of such a special person. Also, look at that blouse! We love you Aama.
